Sea Glass and beach glass are similar but come from two different types of water. Sea Glass is physically and chemically weathered glass found on beaches along bodies of salt water. Glass from inland waterways such as Chesapeake Bay and the Great Lakes is known as beach glass. Both are broken shards of old bottles or glass containers. To obtain their smooth and frosted look they are tumbled in the sea or waterway for at least 20-50 years.
Most of my Sea Glass came from Wiggins Beach in Naples Florida and was collected over a 20 year span by longtime resident, the late Jim Vanzo. With a contemporary design we combine the Sea Glass with gold and 925 silver to create one of a kind wearable art pieces.
